I'll ask Archie he peels hundreds but I think the problem is more simple. Your eggs are too fresh the air bubble inside an egg expands as it ages and gives the egg more room inside the shell.

You're probably right. I remember, as a boy, helping my mom peel hard-boiled eggs to make homemade potato salad, and they peeled quite easily back then! I know it's a pain, but deviled eggs are delicious ( I would gobble them up too ). Don't quit now . . .

I'll bet the potato salad is just as delicious!

Egg salad is a good use for broken hard-boiled eggs, too. Also, I'll put them in tuna salad.

Still, there is a certain satisfaction when that shell peels away smoothly, and leaves that perfect shiny egg!

I never boil them, just let them reach a light bubbling and turn them down to low and leave them for 20 minutes with a tablespoon of vinegar. Most of the time they do well, I must admit they are harder to peel than years before.

I know Mother always told me not to use fresh eggs. They don't peel easily. Good luck.

I imagine the cause is indeed something being put into the chicken feed.
