i cry too, i cry watching the movies about race horses, heck i cry at the drop of a hat. but i think it takes heart, some horses like some people just have great heart and can summons up that little extra when it counts.....as for the squirrels well let me tell you they are a strange lot....today when i was driving home there was a squirrel in the road and as i got near i slowed down to give it time to run and it did not it just stayed in the road and i swerved to miss it and i did....thank goodness, i would have cryed all the way home.

Hmm - it would depend on which horse I had bet on - I could cry for either one.

We always like it when the underdog wins, or the 4th horse comes
ahead to win at the last minute. I think maybe we identify with those souls who finally catch a break. :)

Probably just family squabbles! And it's strange - although I really love horses, and have since childhood, I've always been somewhat indifferent towards horse racing...

winning over adversity ...the outsider working harder than any other and coming through. It is a fabulous sight.
Madame is probably like my Mama Queen....has a bag full of babies she is caring for somewhere. My babies will be running around soon and I will be lucky if one survives. It is a tough world out there.

Don't worry about the spruce tree. They are probably just mating.

I would think it is good horsemanship Ciel the jockey plays the physiological trick
he knows just how far to push the horse. Now squirrels I shall have to charge a fee
if you wish to know what's going on.

Re: FormerStudentIntern.
I feel bad for them, but not as much as I feel happy for the one who came from behind to surprise everyone.

Things are never dull when squirrels are around...I feel bad for people in second place as well...On the subject of the Preakness, I think that I am the only Marylander not there.
