Re: Adnohr
Well I do touch them up[ sometimes adnohr or send them to the big fire in the back yard.
Yes Sergeants were like that, but times have changed. Best not to join up though.

Love the poem...and I seem to remember it too....or is it a case of déjà vu? The remark about the bull reminds me of a movie, where a soldier was complaining about one ache or another, and his Sarge offered to take his mind off it by breaking the soldier's little finger.

No I never buy soft fruit Ciel. What you should do is get a weightlifters belt I strap it as tight as I can and it does help, Of course it does not stop one from falling over.

I suppose one harvests a certain amount of pleasure watching the plants grow Pat.
They always seem to give a little squeak when chosen for Plant Heaven.

Re: Jimmy
No Jimmy fruit flies as the name implies are rather cute they stick to fruit.
I think so anyway as it is softer for the little maggots to munch through.
No I am always wary when a Bull follows alongside a hedge hoping to find a gap I expect,

For me the garden is all about spirituality. No one ever comes visitng so no one ever sees it but us. My joy is to create and to work with my hands. fight the weeds and encourage the flowers. The bushland and Wiley's Wood is all coming green. It is a time to be busy.
Oh and the poem follow your fist instinct...always the best way.

Just out of curiosity, if those same flies began to land on and ravish your tomatoes, cucumbers and string beans, would they then be considered 'vegetable flies?' I don't think taking them 'for a ride' would accomplish much, except to give their little wings a rest. And you're right. When you've got a mad bull chasing you down, a slight muscle pull in your side would probably be the least of your worries! Run, Forest, run . . . !!!

All the work of digging, planting, cultivating, harvesting for one minute's
pleasure on the tongue. Yet the doing of it returns its own satisfaction. The poem of
the roving eye, the second thought, new to me but it stirs memory.

Oh, those little aches that burn like fire in the hip and back...
One moment of over-doing, and it's three days to get over it. Do take care!
And I never buy fruit at the store when fruit flies are hovering: they have already laid their tiny eggs, and I will have a kitchen full of the little nuisances.
