I guess if she is big enough to live in New York she is big enough to decide about a tattoo or not. I don't like 'em for myself and men covered with them say Jail time to me but I am an oldy and I know it. I remember meeting my first set of in laws when I started dating the kids Dad. I was wearing double stretch black slacks and a big green jumper 3 sizes too big....long hair down the back, heaps of black mascara...y' know sixties style ... Mother warned me that they would not be impressed. LOL Your Granddaughter sounds like a real sweetie.

Mom is certainly entitled to her opinion of tattoos - but to make a big scene over her adult daughter's choices is downright stupid, among other things...I used to toy with the idea at times, but my main concern was always - okay, but what do I do with it once I get bored with it? So I never got any...

Well I think tattoos are horrible but I suppose they are alright when the skin is firm and I could not care less if a person wants one. Handy if one goes into hospitable and information is tattooed on one's bum like 'Made in Scotland.' Well we won't won't go into possibles.

My elder daughter, her graduation present from high school
was money to get a tattoo. My younger daughter has a big lion climbing her thigh. Your granddaughter's mom needs to get it that she doesn't own her daughter's body, and doesn't get to make those choices. Butt out, Ma!
