I understand what you're saying, and it is indeed scary. However, one of the drawbacks we must deal with is the fact that our government no longer does anything about anything until after the fact! Our nation's motto should be: "Look! The horses have escaped! Close the barn doors!"

there are so many occupations that are obsolete....the question is do we change with the times and our occupation?  I hope there is a way to train them for better jobs and a way to build the economy in that area....

I remember John Stossel saying that even if we do everything right environmentally, what China does will more than negate it...I guess our best hope is that China and India develop environmental regulations with some teeth to them.
