Yes that is a puzzle. All I can think of is he was missing his treat and he thought you had forgotten. Perhaps animals are evolving and Ben is one of the first with super intelligence.

Oh that is so why I love cats and dogs. They just know, how I don't know but they do. Our cat will wake out of sleep and come to the door when George is still a block away but Buddy knows daddy is on his way. I love your Ben he is so cute.
