There are several Morel hunters at the center, waxing eloquent over
the flavor and the once-a-year season for them. I hope you got a sample this time. :)

Re: Justi
I didn't take that picture. It is from Yahoo images. I don't go foraging anymore. My niece did though...about a week ago. She spent four hours searching and ended up with only six little ones. But she carefully cooked them and divied up with her hubby.

I don't think I had ever eaten a mushroom in my life, in any form, before I met my wife, a vegetarian. Now we have mushrooms often ( usually Portobello ), especially as a pizza topping. I guess we'll have to look for these Morels now . . .

Re: C_C_T
HaHaHa. It did not bother me at all. I remember shobana, and a lot of others who are no longer here. It is just too much trouble to chase them all over the Internet. I do check in on Dave Cryer now and then on FB. He was always so interesting and very jolly.

Never seen them Taps I know some folk go into the woods and pick fungi, but the fields of mushrooms that we plundered through in childhood seem to have vanished. We used to grow ordinary mushrooms in an old shed on straw but it does not seem very hygienic some how. Sorry about the email I would not dream of asking anyone to join it was only an ex member of blogit I think she was lonely and asked me to join and then Shobana popped up, if you remember her. I shall try and keep a low profile. I need nourishment not punishment.

Re: Annicita
You can buy domestic ones (usually dried) grown under special conditions. You can even get kits on the internet to grow them yourself. But, they do not compare to the wild ones that you find in April or May depending on where you live.

That does look delicious. We only ever had field mushrooms in Australia.
