A little rescue doggie would be such company and someone to walk with. Or one of these

I remember in my mother's neighborhood, one of the neighbors would leave her dog out all night long. It drove me nuts. Fortunately, they moved out...It is tough to see animals being neglected.

It's nice to know there are still places that allow dogs - around here, it's getting to be very dificult to find a rental unit that does, and even some condos have restrictions, which is very sad...And Bennie does his share of woofing, though pitch and intensity vary! There is a marked difference between the way he tells the postman that he'll kill him, and the way he greets a family friend...

Some people suggest cleaning windows with newspapers, although I never understood that myself. Perhaps you'll just have to wait until your 'elbow grease reserve' catches up with you. And it appears that you prefer 'baritone' dogs to 'soprano' dogs. Nothing wrong with that . . .

I have that same limited energy thing - and the same issue with windows and sunny
days. Some days it bothers me. But most of the time I can distract myself.

Pat we used to have a dog next door it would bark through to the early hours.
In the end I told the neighbor that I had an abusive call telling me to keep my dog quiet . It worked after a fashion. Ironically a few years later the same neighbor, his dog had died complained to me of someones dog opposite that kept barking.
