I agree with you. The enforced one-on-one should be reserved only for penalty situations.

I disagree with all those European rules and the fighting has got out of hand. Some of those are criminal acts of violence by men less capable of playing the game and obeying rules....................

I agree. Two teams play their hearts out and are equal in their scores. The shoot out spoils it for me too.

I totally agree. I never liked the shootouts from the beginning, for two reasons. First, whether the overall numbers favor the goaly or not, I never thought it was fair to make a goaly stand on his head for a full 60 minute contest, keeping his team in the game, only to have to face one-on-one break-aways in the end to determine a winner! And secondly, without ties, the goaltender's career win/loss record is now skewed. Instead of being, say, 100-50-10, it could be 105-55. Goalies who would normally have had a tie could now have a win, and that's not fair to goalies of the past! But, unfortunately, it's here to stay, and we tried & true hockey fans will just have to accept it . . .
