Re: Re:
Dear Mister Smith,
A few thousand what? A million what? If it's teacups, you will have to come over and build me some more shelves.
Is it cats, maybe? In a few weeks time, I could send three or four cats as a token gesture of support.
Mostly sincerely,
Tilly Manycats

I just tell 'em that I only contribute through my church who take care of a lot of folks and that ends it Bro. I've stopped leaving those Blogit icons, too much trouble making them come out right ................

Yes be very careful Taps , I was being lulled into a false sense of security not that I would give bank details out over the phone. Thank you, fun to find things written a few years ago.

Re:
Yes a display of numbers is a boon Jimmy I never answer If I do not know the number, I was caught out yesterday as I was expecting a call from a carrier. What a blinking nerve though he called again at past 6pm but I remembered his number.

Re:
Yes you should be so lucky Kabu I thought that was a bit over the top a refund from the Inland revenue. They try to grab it not give it away. It is easy for people to let down their guard these rats are so persuasive. Got any rats with top hats smoking cigars?

Re: It seems a lot safer for the guys who used to be street criminals,
I think they might get lists somehow Pat I contribute to a fund for dementia sufferers. It might make criminals think that's an old guy, easy pickings. Horrible people.

Re: cct
Well I don't like to give married women compliments even on here Jean , I always think it would be embarrassing if their husbands read the blog. It is different talking to friends in the flesh one can joke or pull legs as it is accepted as communication not flirting with the wives. You are right, better to be safe than sorry, I even had a genuine call from my bank on a mobile which I refused to acknowledged.

blogit is about the only place on the net i feel safe, like i am talking to and writing for real people. otherwise i do not bother, if i dont know the name, the emails go into junk unopened. on the phone i feel less secure and when i get a call i very politely tell them that I NEVER DONATE OVER THE PHONE, but thank you very much for your call goodbye. (most of the time i ask also take my name off of your calling list.) i dont get near the calls i use to.

It seems a lot safer for the guys who used to be street criminals,
purse snatchers and muggers, or panhandlers, to just approach you by phone or online and get access to some real money... Lazy buggers.

It seems as though he may have given up at last but for about 12 months someone called Alan has been telling me via my email...I put him into junk mail so I don't open it...anyway he wants to give me money I have earned every month...some times 5 or6 thousand some times less. He just needs some particulars.....
Plus i don't know what else comes through my junk mail....I am glad that we help each other with warnings so that we don't get scammed again.

As always, one must remain diligent, and it's difficult to trust anyone these days, especially over the phone. Good thing the wine didn't affect your judgement. Many charities are legitimate of course, but like you said, these scammers will stop at nothing, and obviously have no morals. Stay alert . . . !
