Re: adnohr
Well those lovely rosy red apples rarely breed true from seed Adnohr. I suppose if there was a F1 hybrid it might but a graft is quicker and gives a better degree of control over size. I think it must have shaken the ink up because it was running out before.

Re:

Yes of course Pat, she was artistic in a sensible way. The art was lost as some natural activities are. Of course as I said to Kabu, there is money to be made by selling the newbies expensive toys to produce a few potatoes on concrete slabs. Or containers for flowers. Your Mum's experience had probably been gathered from her forebears and the desire to provide for her family.

Re:
Have you tried sucking it Kabu. Seriously though it makes me cringe to see all the adverts
exploiting the way to grow a few veggies or flowers. As Arthur said it is a hobby now and one has to pay for hobbies. I mean selling wooden troughs to grow veggies the compost to fill them would cost twice as much as the produce. If you can get some piggy manure you are homeward bound.

No Jimmy I don't want to be a dwarf called Red Ears. I still don't know where the surplus plastic came from , it must have done some little chore, time will tell I expect. No the little devils will be after the fruit I bet.

I guess it's better to blame the soil than to admit being scammed.
I have thumped on a printer now and then to get it to work right...and it did.

Sometimes certain electronic devices need a good smack now and then to get them to perform properly. I wouldn't recommend doing it regularly though! And don't take chances with the sun! They make sun block creams for a reason! And you should know by now that you can't trust those darn blackbirds . . .

I don't have a green thumb and have to work real hard to get my garden going. I love this poem, reminds me that there is a scammer in every generation.

I believe you would have got on very well with my mother - she, too had a green thumb and loved trying to make things grow that were not native to her area. She grew our table vegetables and also did an English style flower garden, with fragrant borders, tallest flower in the background, fit subjects for a landscape painter.
