Gardening is supposed to be fun and therapeutic! Don't get hung up on any of the 'negatives!' And if you do decide to go fishing, it appears you will have an ample amount of worms to bring along . . .

today was my first venture out for the year after such a harsh winter. There is much work to do.

Re:fsi

it took me 4 days on my knees to rid myself of a plant that was ripping through my flowerbed.

Re: taps

with almost 4 acres you either mow it all or figure out what to plant.

You are right that there are bullies in nature.

Yes wear gloves, sometimes little spiders will nip and well I expect we are immune I remember as a little boy running down our grit road and having to dig little flints out of my bare knees. Also my younger brother running round with a mouse in his mouth. Copying the cat I suppose.

How fun.  I live in an apartment complex where all yardwork and flower gardes are done by a landscaping company.  If I want to get my hands dirty, I can have flower pots on my deck, or go over to my Son's a mile away and spend time in his garden.  He is hard at work in it now every day getting things going.
