I am so familiar with your story to the point now. Would I patch them? I would so want too, but I guess I would never get it done. You could always sew a piece of lace over it and another piece of lace on the opposite leg near the bottom as if it were fine and intended that way. Just makes me sleepy to think of doing any of those once upon a time easy things. Be blessed, do what you want and don't think twice about it!

TAPS

The first part of your post is pretty much me too.I am really doing a day at a time and don't feel much like getting into anything, physically I feel old and mentally my kids are not part of my life. No matter, I have been sober a long time and that is what I really had to do. You are a special Blogit friend and I guess I always loved 'talkin' with you. You have been wonderful therapy for me.Love you my sister TAPS.

No, these days, socks are probably not worth repairing! But an old, comfortable pair of jeans? Definitely! And I wouldn't worry about whether you're opinionated or not. When someone asks me what my take on something might be, I usually say, no take, just leave!

It can be tough to find things to write every day...I have had to toss some some jeans recently. I had some major rips that to me were sudden...The less said about my socks, the better.

I used to do a bit of darning when the boys were little...

As for the patch on your jeans - if you've got a matching bit of cloth to fit the hole, it's easier if you use that iron-on adhesive that comes in narrow rolls "Stitch Witch." Press the patch in place, then it's easier to sew because it doesn't slide around when you get to the sewing machine. Fun to do it that way for applique, too.

Said the shoe to the sock, "I'm gonna put a hole in you!"

Said the sock to the shoe, "I'll be darned if you do!"
