An article today suggests that those who eat ten portions of fruit or especially vegetables increase lifespans by a considerable amount. Tin fruit not helpful, did not mention nuts but one assumes they are OK. Supposed to be related to a test lasting 12 years. I don't mind Zucchini fried in butter, might not be valid.

As you have so carefully pointed out, there are many substitutes to some of the foods we normally eat that can have wonderful benefits for our health. Although I married a vegetarian, I don't really consider myself one because once in a while I may still have something that would be considered 'meat.' But those incidences are becoming rarer and rarer, and I know I am much healthier for it! People just have to exercise a little common sense with their diets, and not go overboard with certain things. And no matter what, chocolate will always be good for you! Just don't eat a ton of it in one sitting . . .
