Re: Jimmy
There are too many of those a bit lower down Jimmy. In council property once they would have been tramps.

Re: Re: I had to look up auricula
You dream of Pamplona?
That's better than dreaming of being a cow being chased by a bull!

If Archie's stall is even remotely as charming as any Dicken's tale, then it must be a real pleasure for the surrounding neighborhood! Just make sure the Artful Dodger doesn't take up residency anywhere nearby . . . !

Re: I had to look up auricula
The thing is Ciel people are amazed by the flower. The weavers used to grow them, I was quite enthralled by the form, but any way I am just going to leave them in large pots. I hope to show photos I had a large collection but deleted them. I sometimes dream of a Bull chasing me. That's as near as I get.
Golden brown after a cigar one assumes.

Re: Naut
Well when I look at his stall I feel slightly sea sick Naut, if one can on dry land it takes me back 50 years in time. Perhaps that is the novelty for some folk buying a little odd looking pot of homemade preserve. Or a bag of cheap firewood although I do not know many with open fires.

By all means - I'm sure we all would love to see Archie's stall! And I am charmed by your poem of blissful bucolic moments...

I imagine Archie's stall is quite the sight to see...I have heard of different gardening competitions but am not sure of where the closest one is to me...I am not the competitive sort either...I can just imagine the stories the old dog would tell...

I had to look up auricula
and discover they are related to the soft little things we call primroses here, but are more exact, even stately! Going through the images, I saw one I especially admire: Auricula havana, a multiple with many petals, in a golden brown color.
Do you often dream of being a cow?
