Your first paragraph took me away somewhere dreamy. Dawn and dusk are my favorites times of day.

Re: CCT,
It seems there has often been a mountain or more in my view. When I was watching Hopalong Cassidy and the Lone Ranger and that guy who stuffed his horse.("Have some more oats, Trigger." "No thanks, Roy, I'm stuffed.") I had a view of Mt Lassen to the east, and Mt Shasta to the north. When I moved to Washington State, there was Mt Rainier in view many a day, and the Olympics and Cascades, too. There was Mt St Helens, more then less of it. So, here, it is Pike's Peak, the only one that isn't a volcano.
I also moved here to be nearer my mom (91 now) and my son, who is such fun to be around: he is good for me!
I don't know about growing tumbleweeds... I think you have that covered with the Baby's Breath, once it dries out and takes off on the first breeze.

Wonder why you picked to live here was it the mountain?
A woman in California told me that she has to apply for permission to burn the tumble weed I suppose they collect in different places. Of course I know all about tumble weed we saw it every Saturday from the 4 penny seats in the cinema . Hop along Cassidy and those other daredevil riders. Nothing more chilling than seeing the lone tumble weed rolling down between the empty streets. Perhaps you could grow a pot full.

Re: TAPS,
I was surprised years ago to see them bouncing across eastern Washington, ganging up on the fences along the highways.

Re: Pat,
Wow, never thought of that... but what a dramatic scene that could make in a story about cowboys!

If you want to hide eggs this Easter, just leave them white.

No tumbleweeds around here! But they told us that we've had the coldest winter in 36 years, as if we didn't know, and also that April won't be any fun either. Maybe the snow will be gone by the end of June...

There's some high country in Colorado where tumbleweeds
find living conditions ideal. We had lots of them in eastern Washington when I was a little kid - and I used to love to watch them bouncing across the desert. They did pile up against fences and we were warned they were dangerous if they should roll across a campfire...

Before this year, I never knew Colorado to have tumbleweed blowing about. I always thought that was further West somewhere.
