Re:
Now that, C C T, I would love to see . . . or hear! I guess 'keeping up with the Jones' would take on a whole new meaning . . .

Re:
I don't think that's odd at all, adnohr. What's funny to me sometimes is when someone names their pet something that isn't somewhat bizarre, and instead chooses something like Paul or Mary or Steve or Karen. Those names seem to fit even less for a dog or cat! It almost has to be somewhat unusual that only you can more or less relate to. Grump and Smooch sound fine by me . . .

Re: Jimmy
Perhaps a few "Yo's" in there too, eh, Naut? Well, I usually only call Riki by her 'full' name when I'm more or less singing to her, which she loves. But once in a while, she does something off-the-wall, and then it's "Hey, knucklehead!" She doesn't care. As long as she's getting any kind of attention . . .

Re:
I can see that, Annicita. I know people who have also done that, naming their dog Yankee or their cat Ranger or their bird Cubby. No, I didn't think anyone would have been able to top Riki's full name . . .

Re:
That's a good one, FSI. Just out of curiosity, did he respond at all when he was called . . . ?

Re:
Believe it or not, Amanda, but I actually knew a guy named Bob years ago who everyone called Binky! To this day I don't understand why. It does sound better as a pet's name . . .

Nope - can't top that name, and would never be able to twist my tongue around it in the morning! People already think I'm odd because my pitbulls are called Grump and Smooch.

Most of our pets have always had very short names - it simplifies things. Sam, Jag, Ben - names like that. And often, especially with the doggies, it's just 'Doggie' or 'Hey'...

I do not think that anyone is going to be able to top Riki's full name.
My sister and I had a Dalmatian fish we named Dalmy.
