I think one has to keep kidding oneself along Pat. To some a pain in the back is just something one gets occasionally to others it is the Grim Reaper giving a rub.
Nevertheless a little check up now and again is reassuring .

It's great that the nurses are keeping an informal eye on your clentele...And insisting that she's healthy is important to Sally, even if that's not entirely true. As long as that doesn't prevent her from getting medical attention when she needs it...
