Absolutely wonderful, and reminds me of a similar 'good deed' I was involved in some time ago . . .

I was behind two young boys in a check-out line at Christmas time who were purchasing something for their mother. When it came time to pay, they dumped their hard-earned allowance on the counter, which consisted of a few paper bills and many, many coins. After a tedious count, the clerk finally informed them they were still a little over a dollar short ( they probably didn't factor in tax ). They gave each other that "What do we do now?" look, and glanced sadly at the clerk. Not being able to bear seeing them scoop the money back up and leave empty-handed, I of course made up the difference myself. Their huge smiles was reward enough.

Feels good to make someone else's day with a relatively simple gesture, doesn't it?

Yes little things like that showing preferential treatment to one child is quite damaging.Fortunately the little girl will remember that incident with a warm glow of happiness.

A lovely gesture.
