That's so cute.  It reminds me of a true incident between doctor and patient when I was standing by as nurse.  I've always laughed when I see doc because I remember.

Wasn't there a British comedic actor named Rowan Atkinson who had created a character called "Mr. Bean?" That's where I thought you may have been heading with this. Regardless, it would still have been a confusing conversation . . .

Well I suppose you could say hello old bean quite a common form of address here. Although I must confess I have not heard it for a long time, perhaps being a has been .

It might not be seen to have been appropriate. Try and have a word with his wife.

Well, the poor guy started out with a name guaranteed to get him

beat up on the playground. Like a friend of mine whose name was Hall said if she ever had a child she'd name him Closet. So on all his school and official records it would show up as Hall, Closet.

That is quite the neighborly introduction there....I myself have never met someone whose first name was Bean.
