I find it interesting
that people often fight within their own religion. Catholics fight Protestants, Sunnis fight Shi'ites

Well I don't really know any Muslins Naut only hear what I read. I can see you have done a lot of research on this issue and it is all rather disturbing. I cannot see an answer, will there ever be harmony. I think not.

This, "...a sense of superiority and a sense of injustice and inferiority are intricately combined to produce a condition which one could well describe as one of ‘permanent rage’..." also happens with people who are not, and have never been muslim. I've known persons that thought they had the right to be filled with this rage you describe. What a sad existance.

I believe I understand more now than I have previously, and it has only made me even more frightened. At the same time, regardless of me ( or anyone else ) asking for possible solutions, it seems apparent that there really aren't any. At least none that John & Jane Q. Public can actually use or implement! From what you've written, war has been declared, and has always been declared, between Islam and basically the rest of the world. So I suppose that my question of "Now what?" has now become rhetorical. I know when it comes to 'open warfare,' the Islamic army wouldn't stand a chance. But these terrorist cells are another matter. It's tough wondering where and when the 'other shoe' is going to drop . . .

I have two converted Muslim friends and although we do not talk religion, one does get a sense of what you speak.
