- Go to Storm Fear...
It is snowing here now, but I don't know what it is going to become--very cold I suppose. I've decided to quit worrying about it and just get out more layers of clothing and blankets. But, Son is one of those worriers. He watches every bit of the weather forecasts and prays the electricity does not go out so he can keep up with the forecasts.

We are in for that storm as well in Maryland...Reading about how the way in which we get weather forecasts has changed and its accuracy has really struck a chord with me. Often, I tend to continually check online over and over again even though the National Weather Service updates every few hours.

Well Pat once a famous weather forecaster said a storm was coming but it was nothing to worry about. We had the worst storm for 50 years. the poor chap has been reminded of it ever since. Perhaps bets are hedged a bit more these days as well.

I didn't know anything about this storm - our own weather prognosticators don't seem to have mentioned it so far, although usually we get what you get, just a bit later. Maybe they think it'll blow itself out before it gets here...But just in case, I might as well stock up on my scotch...

There should be some satisfaction and relief from worry
just knowing you can prepare, and have done so.
I remember making a winter drive through the Canadian Rockies, stocking up the truck with everything I could need, should I slide into a ditch and not be found for several days: food, water, warm bedding.
