Wow! If I could hug you, I would.
I think we were right to hate the war and its aftermath, but any who spit on a soldier, who blamed the "boys" for the heartless decisions of old men, should be ashamed of themselves. Brilliant poem.

I marched for peace in those days. not the violent marches but Christian marches against us ever being in Vietnam and did you ever see the movie The killing Fields??

No FSI, though that is sad, what is really sad is the millions of innocent civilians (2.5 million if we are to believe the estimates) who were butchered by the North Vietnamese government for things like, being a part of the South Vietnamese army, or selling to the Americans, helping the Americans, comforting the Americans, having babies from the Americans, or being mixed with the blood of Americans, French, British, or Australians. Things that the communist organizers of all the protest in this country, who were so concerned about the deaths of the innocent, could of cared less about, after all, it was theirs to do, they had won.

Oh my God! You made me cry this time. My son was killed in an auto accident the night before he was to ship out to the jungles of hell. As much as I miss him still I think God gave him a lesser death. Thank you Jay for your service. May God bless you.
