I am drooling like a big lazy dog hearing about that meal. You and your family are such a blessing. I began to drive when you did and some cars din't even have to have the key if you 'miss-put' it. So I hope both of those cars are soon in the hands of their owners and running well. That saying about all at once is the little girl on the Morton box with an umbrella "When it rains it pours".

Geesh, what a day! And you're right. Years ago, people were able to work on their own cars ( me, my dad and my three brothers included ). Now they've made them so complex that you really have no choice but to take it to a specialized mechanic, who will then charge you $200 an hour for the work! Sorry about your sister's friend. That's always tough. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day . . .

When your poor sister recovers tell her if she was in England and seen driving and phoning she would be for the high jump and her insurance might be rejected.
Sorry to mention it Taps but for her own good. In really hate those cars that kill the engine when one stops. I always think they might not start up quickly again.

I know nothing about cars never tried to know just like you and yes, our little girlie has electronic computer stuff and they can't fix it from here. They get the part install it and then some central computer makes it work. Bit scary really. I am sorry for your Sister.

It does seem that a bunch of bad events occur all at once, leaving one frustrated, upset and angry...It was quite a hassle with the car, I see...Like you, I am not familiar with vehicles and and am amazed by the technology...I would like to express my condolences with regard to your sister's friend.

When it rains, it pours comes to mind. I know what you mean about cars. I lucked out at the car store a while back as the sales person misrepresented the car he sold us. In Utah we need front wheel drive at the minimum (because of all the snow), which he said it was, but it was not. So I took it back and in order to keep us happy they put us in a Volvo all wheel drive, twice the car we thought we could afford, but they made it work. Problem is that this car is one of only 800 made so parts are very hard to find. I am so sorry to hear about your sister's sad day, a good friend of mine from church is in his death bed now with kidney problems, it is just so hard to see them go whoever they are, and my prayers are with her.

It was a lucky thing her whatsit played out just when she was
in range and also lucky you could let her use your car. It could have been a real problem if it had zonked in the middle of the freeway. Lucky, too, that there was someone on hand to help you eat the quiche that would have otherwise gone unappreciated...
