Thank you for the mention and reading of my comment. My only thought now is that perhaps the destruction of the evil of 'muslimism' disease, will be in a way that is as unsuspected as the polio disease in Pakistan right now. The God of my understanding will solve this evil in good time.

Sigh.....so I am still lost down this dang Rabbit hole and instead of finding my way back up will be here waiting for another installment...No actually the US isn't an Empire but as my Father used to say some American Leaders see themselves as the World's Sheriff and other Nations not as polite as Canada wish that they would sod off and leave them alone. What I don't understand is why we aren't allowed to say that we don't want certain actually Muslims living with us if they are not prepared to be fully part of our society and agree to our laws.

What you have written about empires makes a lot of sense to me...You are right in how the Christian and Humanist tradition is different than the Muslim tradition.

I do not think it is new at all. It has happened throughout history. When we fallow God we prosper, when we fall away, we do not. And yes, America is both falling away and failing and will fall if we do not do something about our debt and do it quickly. A nation is no different than a business, or a family. You cannot get yourself out of debt by the acquisition of more and more credit cards. Those who are against us, Muslim Extremist, Russians, or the Chinese need to do nothing but wait. The beginning of the fall will be the day the dollar is removed as the world currency, and when America falls, who then will hold up the freedom of the west. Canada? England? Australia? And make no mistake, this President is pushing us to the edge. He is no bungler, no amature. This is his dream.

"Empire" - as you point out, is a loaded word
and many wiser by far than I refuse to call the USA an empire. They claim it's a republic, subject to the will of the governed. Yeah, right. The majority - in polls - don't want us involved in wars, police actions, or whatever you want to call this expenditure of young men and women during the acquisition of wealth by the military-industrial complex. But we're still spending money on super aircraft nobody asked for, to fight wars nobody wants against people who didn't like us to begin with.
