Are you flooded out, CCT? I haven't been commenting but have been in and out reading, and as TAPS mentioned...hope all is well?

cct, must we talk about the weather? i was just on fb and saw a reminder of easter... i'd completely forgotten of the season... it gave me so much hope. iowa has been unduly cold this winter... we're all sick of it. just think of what the dinosaurs went thru with climate change or whatever killed them. i think it was the flood. along with the true giants in the land. see genesis chapter 6 if you don't believe me... or look at all the accounts of men finding giant skeltal remains. and i digress.

Re: Jay

Goodness can't you catch water off your roof , I have eight linked drums, but we are on a meter and pay by usage. My brother is not and he grows good crops , it would be interesting to see what will happen if he is made to have one, it would make the siblings chuckle.

Re: CCT

If there is a chance some will exploit it Naut, these companies keep pestering folk to claim and the insurance companies appear to pay out rather than dispute the claim.

Some bright spark thinks of a ploy and as long as money is at the end of the effort , no holds are barred.  Meg was a few years ago Naut, but I still think of her mad schemes.

Re:

Well I am glad we have not had to contend with snow this year so far Jimmy. As you say the big melt is the problem.

We depend on the snow in the mountains for water and they are already saying we will be short and there is an 8 foot base at the ski resorts, but I must say that it is usually 12

CCT

The insurance game is a huge racket - I can tell by the outrageous premiums I have to pay...And your encounter with Meg suggests that you live in a very interesting neighbourhood, similar to the hills of West Virginia or eastern Newfoundland, to give just two examples...

Hmmm . . . 41 whiplash claims for 31 people. And I used to think I was pretty good at math! And as far as the weather is concerned, yes, it's all 'sixes and sevens' out there! We are now buried under a thick blanket of snow and ice. Our biggest fear now is the weather getting too warm too quickly, as all of that melting snow and ice has to go somewhere! Can you say floods, boys and girls . . . ?

Re:

Yes in a hundred years time we might be able to say the climate changes all the time. You mark my words Kabu.

ChiffChaff

Loved the story about the bus, I am happy your brother is alright and his insurance comes through for him Bro. Must be tough for you in such weather and it's been a miserable winter here with so much cold and snow.

I think that humans as a race suffer from megalomania...we haven't got a clue. The world has been changing as you say from the beginning and in relatively modern times Englad was attached to Europe. of course no one is mentioning this bitter cold Winter we have had over here...they even tried to say that the bushfires in Australia are part of climate change...Oh and the latest I read ws that it all hs a new name Ocean warming..that is what is happeneing.!!

What a gentleman, to go out of your way for Ms. Meg and her

menagerie... I really don't envy you the flooding - what a misery that is.
