It appears that 'Freedom of the Press' is slowly going the way of the dodo. However, I do have first-hand experience in dealing with certain members of the press, and really do not have a soft spot for them in my heart. In many incidences, as long as they use the word 'alleged' in their writings, they can pretty much say whatever they wish, whether it destroys someone else's life or not! Read my book "The Hindering" to fully understand my disdain . . .

The larger the institution the more paranoid it becomes. It is becoming too easy to track even the innocent and of course it will worsen in time.

Very interesting reading, both your post and the comments.
It is a bit scary to me that 164 Netizens have been killed over such a thing.

Let me do this again... I do not think the report is says that the media censers itself, what it is saying is that the media censers out anything that might be in the least bit harmful to the President or his policies. In other words they are lying to the people, I don't understand what needs to be said to make folks aware of this. What will it take to wake this country, and the west up?

I am not sure that the mainstream media's self-censorship is voluntary either.

It's not necessarily the government that censors what the media

covers and presents - the media's mostly owned by corporations which are not reporting their own sneakrets...
