I am retired now, but I can't remember having a job I didn't like, and I started working at 13, but no matter what the pay was, I always knew that with hard work I could rise above my pay scale.

I have heard of surveys like that before, and I must ask, did you have to put your name on it, or could it have been turned in anonymously? The reason I ask is, even though they're asking you to be honest, sometimes that honesty can come back to bite you! No company wants to have 'disgruntled' employees working for them, even if your complaints are valid and genuine . . .

I didn't go nursing for the pay it was terrible for how hrd we worked, but after the divorce I lost interest in money. Enough for food and rent was OK by me. I loved the work soooo much but what made me miserable at times was the bitchy politics. I kept out of it as much as possible but that got me into trouble too because I wouldn't have an opinion or run anyone down.

Well to be honest LL. the only people I see with what looks like genuine smiles is the Local Supermarket. A a part of a large organisation Called John Lewis. Could the reason be that they all share in a profit making scheme and have a percentage each year which is quite a hefty amount. I'll try and remember when the result comes up and tell you.

You are right about Sears being a microcosm of the large companies...I do not know of anyone who likes doing the gruntwork for the big coprorations.
