She ran out into the cold night air, and down the center of her street. Street lights cast her 'monstrous' shadow across the darkened pavement. She ran for blocks, with only her labored breathing to keep pace, at last, stopping just in front of a tall beige Tudor. It was dark and locked away for the night.
'My God!' she whispered under her breath, "where am I?"
Just then, a pair of headlights rounded the bend and headed toward her and she stood erect as if waiting for an approaching bus. It was a police car. It pulled alongside her with one lone male figure inside. He rolled the passenger's window down.
"Say, Lady, out for a midnight run?"
She was at a loss for words. "I . . . I had a bad dream."
"Do you need a lift home?"
"Sure," she said nodding.
She got into his vehicle, the vinyl seat sticking to her half-naked ass.
