Re:Pat

Pat what about the 90 day gentle man who gave a hop and a skip. I hope you will have an appropriate response when he proffers a bunch of red roses.

Re: Jimmy

Any stray walnut that has not fallen was nipped off by the crows long ago. Actually I wanted those trees taken out, but a preservation order was slapped on them. One day a branch is surely going to crash into the houses, but no one seems to worry. I love trees but not too close.

Re: FS

I wonder what you have in the barrels? It must be expensive if they are not charged .

Re: Kabu

Well he is kind hearted. I am afraid I would have frozen you some custard.

No I wouldn't I have a drawer full of ice cream on sticks. Shows what a good man he is.

Re: Ciel

It is a balancing act Ciel.I don't want them to get frozen and split, but these exceptional winds are something else. I have been up since 5am I had to put the refuge bin and recycle box out as the collectors come about  6am and it was too rough last night.

I can imagine those barrels, barreling down the road... surprising cats and dogs on every side!

CCT

Picky, picky, that Arthur...I too would love to see some daffodils come up, scented or unscented, but we've got two feet of snow on the ground and more on the way! I think it'll be May until we see any daffodils this year...And yes, the always problematic day of St. Valentine's coming up, lol...

Come to think of it, and with all the daffodils in the yard, I have yet to smell one...Oh well, spring is just around the corner and I smell one then and see.

perhaps if you dig a little hole so that helps keep them upright...

My husband went out last night into the -15 temperature and drove down the road to buy me ice cream because I really wanted ice cream. Better than anything that Valentine's day could bring because this was his heart and no obligation. Sigh!!

Some of our customers ask for and receive our fifty-five and thirty gallon barrels to store water...Valentine's Day lends itself to interesting poetry.

It's one thing for the high winds to possibly knock over those barrels and bend those trees. But isn't the possibility of those walnuts becoming 'projectiles' in those winds just as dangerous? Our home is almost completely surrounded by evergreens, and when it's really windy, going outside quickly becomes a game of 'dodge the pinecones!' How are you fixed for helmets . . . ?

Sweet to read of spring and the need to fill water barrels to keep them

upright in the wind... As for your valentine poem, I'm watching the grandchildren celebrate that holiday and thankful in a way to have no interest it it for myself.
