You can roll a silver dollar something like that LL. I expect you can sing the rest.

Re: Jimmy

I think it is a matter of timing Jimmy, if someone gave you a walking stick you might be offended but in forty years time it might be a Godsend.

Re: Ciel

I know I must have read the book Ciel I expect Arthur has it somewhere, he could probably tell me all the characters and their names.  There was series on the television which we used to watch, but I always think one destroys the other somehow. Goodness those condiments will be a bit out of date by Halloween, I definitely will not be asking for a trick or treat at your,  Hobbit Earth dwelling . I just put that on the net and there are dozens of little houses built for Hobbits.

Re:

Hi Doc I guess memory must have something to do with it, or the ability to forget trivial things.

Re:Naut

Perhaps I should have a ceremonial cracked cup smashing. As for the weight loss I have reclaimed some trousers if not all. When I get back to 32" waist I'll compare sizes.

CCT

Maybe that pot business is the beginning of a Brit version of potlatch...And as to your weight loss, nice as it is - maybe you need to recalibrate your scale...

Thought provoking. It does seem that history repeats. I have seem similar things happen in families that happen to one generation then same happen to another. So I think what goes around comes around just in a different shape form or fashion.

It is nice to be able to make use of someone's former items...A good poem you got there.

Hobbits and mathoms...

Hobbits give gifts on their birthdays, and as there are a lot of hobbits and birthdays, every hobbit is assured of several gifts a week.  Many of the gifts make the rounds--good gifts, but perhaps not really good for anything else.  Such revolving gifts are "mathoms," which I mention in case you don't know the lore.

This pot doesn't quite qualify as it has found another use.  Clever, I might use my lidless teapot in such a way.

I have a bowl full of the little packets of soy sauce and hot mustard that come with Chinese delivery food, and packets of lemon juice, malt vinegar, ketchup, grey poupon mustard, mayonaise, and I forget what else.  I've thought of giving them out for Halloween treats.

And that's what we call 'coming full circle.' It's always good when people can make use of those things that others are ready to discard. But to get the same item back? That's either history repeating itself, or the plot of an obscure episode of the Twilight Zone . . .
