Re:
I'll bet, TAPS! That wasn't just a 'bad day,' but it sounds like a terrible tragedy as well! I think I would rather just leave the house wearing two different shoes . . .

Re: JimmyA
Of course it is, Sir Wiley! And that's what makes it even more disturbing! Gotta be fully awake before you do such things . . .

I must say that I did have some bad days when I was working. Probably the worst was the day the roof caved in (literally) in the large dining room just before lunch and two patients were injured so badly they later died. All 250 of the other patients had to be moved out to another facility and it took all day to do it. What a mess it was.

Yuck!!!!! "After you finish brushing your teeth, you have this awful taste in your mouth, and realize that you’ve just used the Preparation H instead of the toothpaste!" LOL and possible, bummer.!

Re:
Yeah . . . now what, Utah? Going to check to make sure that the toothpaste and the Preperation H are nowhere near each other? Taking a second look at your shoes before you put them on? Making sure that's bread in your hands and not potholders? Need I go on . . . ?

Re:
It would have been, Dr JPT, had someone actually done that! But, stranger things have happened! Sometimes people are better off just standing in front of their bathroom sinks splashing semi-cold water in their faces until they're completely awake before they 'attempt' anything! That's pretty much what I do . . .

Re:
Good for you, FSI! As ridiculous as some of those scenarios sounded, I was actually hoping that no one would say "Yep! I just recently had a day like that!" Believe me, I don't wish this on anybody . . .

Re: Jimmy
I can see that happening, Naut. But hey, in that scenario, you could have claimed that you were simply making a 'fashion statement.' Who could debate you?

Re: I've gone with mismatched socks a couple times...
Actually, I have too, Rumor. But at least with socks, they're not as noticeable as those shoes! Unless, of course, one is black and the other is white! Then you've got some explaining to do . . .

Re:
Well, that's good to hear, C C T. At least mixing up the toothpaste with some other tube can be resolved with a good mouth rinsing! But spraying furniture polish under each arm? Ouch! Even though it may or may not have helped to keep you from perspiring, I'm sure your 'pits' had a healthy sheen to them . . .

Re:
I have a feeling many others have too, lustor. It's one of those things that I don't think I'll ever have to worry about doing, simply because I don't own too many pairs of shoes in the first place! Not a lot of chances to mix them up . . .

I've gone without socks, which is not uncommon for me, since I see them as an unnecessary affectation; except there were certain occasions, such as the formal one where I forgot to bring my socks and my proper shoes, and had to wear the deck shoes I usually walk around in...

I've done the toothpaste with different remedies. Deodorant that was furniture spray.
toothbrush that was reserved for cleaning around the taps. Thankfully none of the other
meet my high standard of awareness.
