LOL! Usually the story goes 'poor country bumpkin is discovered by accident and goes on to fame and fortune'...But I think the version such as this one, 'poor country bumpkin is discovered by accident and goes not on to fame and fortune' is the one encountered more often...

Oh I love that. Difficult as it was it was not nearly as bad as it would have been had the young man been an egotist. He knew his odds. Thanks for sharing.
