I am sure you can give her a few words of wisdom Ciel. That which a child perceives to be the norm can be manipulated by a wise word or two.

It certainly couldn't hurt. A lot of it may be predicated on how susceptible the child is to any type of attention from another adult. I know I wish certain people had made the effort to communicate with me when I was young . . .

For my own experience communication with you enhances one's life and I see that since you have a common bond with this child, you are the one to influence for good.
