Re: Jimmy

Only fine bone china Jimmy, one has to be careful not to rub holes in the cups. I have plenty of bleach.

Re: lustorlove

Well LL I can't afford to drink champagne all the time, but tea lately seems to have the same effect, I have plenty of things to try now thank you.

I agree with lustor. Baking soda may work, but I think bleach will work even better! The only thing is, after the stain is gone, you'll really have to give that mug a good general cleaning to remove the remnants of the bleach! Hmmm . . . perhaps you should get a brown mug . . .

Re: Kabu

Thank you Kabu, the Milton tablets do it efficiently it is what they sterilize baby's bottles with these days not in your granny's  time when I expect it was sand and water. It just seems a lazy way of doing it and goodness I don't know why but I am using  6 cups at one time. Searching for a clean one, it is quite worrying.

Re: Pat.

Well Pat I thought people used to put a sprinkle in with cabbage,  forget why, we never do. Nice to be reminded thank you.

Re: Wiley

Thanks Bro, no use licking ones finger and rubbing a little place clean to drink from, like we did in bye gone days.

Re: FS

Our local upmarket Supermarket gives each customer a coffee free. Many take advantage of this, but it is hardly fair on the coffee shop a bit higher up.

Re: Naut

Goodness Naut , I think Butlers want big money these days and the  the last silver spoon was taken by my sister from some knick knacks that I was giving to Archie for his boot stall. About the eggs you would not really want to know.

Re: Ciel

Ciel I already use B.S. to clean the carpets occasionally, so I do have it at hand. Though I am sure that tea brewed in a pot did not leave residue like tea bags do. They were a nasty little idea, but so convenient.

I'm with the baking soda brigade--

The baking soda dampened to a paste takes tea and coffee stains right out, no need for harsher abrasives.

I do enjoy your flights of fancy!

cct

if i were you i'd get a butler and have him clean the coffee cups and the familiy silver and such, and he could also supervise archie, and on occasion tell arthur that you're out...and do give us your method for making your breakfast eggs taste like long-legged blondes...

I am not sure what can remove coffee stains...Most people I see these days order their coffee to go from Starbucks and convenience stores...The theme of love strikes me in the poem.

Chiff Chaff

I use baking soda like Pat said, and a steel wool type pad Bro.

Baking soda is a good sprinkle to scrub off coffee stains. Use a damp sponge and use it like a paste. It doesn't work if you just dissolve the soda in a cup of water. It's just a bit abrasive - it also kills bad bacteria and won't harm you if you don't get every grain of it rinsed out. Safe enough you can brush your teeth with it. But you know all this... ☺

where do i start to commet...lovely flowers and Archie is a good friend. we give our coffee cups a scrub with a piece of that green scratcher stuff. and then wash 'em. Our dishwasher won't get rid of that stain. Elbow grease luv.

and the poem well me thinks that Nova is a tricky type i think he got you pretty tiddly winks the barber myself but i do hope his love is worth all the trouble she seems to me to be.
