I had always preferred the cooler weather to the warmer weather, but this is ridiculous! Yeah, our neighborhood squirrels have made a condo out of the hung ceiling in our garage! But it would probably be inhumane to evict them now . . .

Inside it's warm, the scent of crockpot chili drifts pleasantly,

and there's green tea. The snow outside continues to drift and sculpt old lines into new. My car is a lump of formerly useful mechanical parts. When it warms up on Friday I'll call for a tow truck to jump start or haul me to the shop. There'll probably be a line of us waiting for mechanical miracles.

Well it does look cozy under that tarpaulin Naut I hope she filled it with straw. I was thinking people never used to have dogs indoors, They used to stand looking sad on a chain and very often the kennel was deviod of straw. Poor critters if they live under those conditions in such weather. I hope we get it a bit colder I don't think it has been down much below 32f here.

Well, after last night, and today not much better I decided it was time to turn on our gas furnace and heat up the place instead of saving money on the heating bills.  Now it's nice and toasty without layers of clothes and blankets.

Re Wiley's complaint...

yes they did and I had to do some fast talking, threatening and looking very sad to stop Wiley from doing anything drastic to my babies. but I don't really want them inside and I feed them plenty outside hoping that will keep them from wanting to come inside.

Nautikos

Last winter those damn squirrels ate the weather protector right out from under the hood of the car.
