- Go to "Hockey Night In Canada": A Misnomer?
"Hockey Night In Canada" is basically just the name of the program, regardless of the time of day, or the teams involved. There is revenue-sharing in hockey, just like in baseball, because the league knows that Toronto, Vancouver and Winnipeg just can't bring in the same kind of revenue as New York, Chicago or Boston. But it's all good, regardless of the country of origin of the players. And don't forget, the Montreal Canadiens have won more Stanley Cups than any other team, American or Canadian. Granted, many of them were won when there were only 6 teams, but we can't split hairs here . . .

Maybe it is time for America to have their own cup. The Stanley Cup was originally the Canadian. Maybe they should just have a short Country of Origin Cup to play each other say the best of free.
