Well Naut it all seems very grim I wonder what the Indians smoked in their peace pipes?

I think it would be  probably better if science or medicine could come up with something.

That would blow the mind and yet not be harmful.

Nautikos

That is an absolutely terrific piece of writing, it also needs to be a column in the Globe and Mail for one.

i think you make a valid point in NOT maintaining marijuana as a legalized entity. i smoked a lot of pot in early high school, flunked out of my sophomore year and got sent away to a rich kids episcopal prep school where i did not belong. but we had lots of pot there so i continued to smoke until one time i had yet another bad high and thought my best friend was going to turn me in to the dean of students. i was 17 then and have not touched it since. i don't trust it nor do i want to mess up my system regardless if i were to smoke it or not. let's not forget all the "good" recipes used in ingesting marijuana. brownies comes to mind.

Good post.   There's way too much pot everywhere.  The governments want in on making money off of it.

Never been near it except by accident once or twice at a party and never used...but of course I smoked cigarettes too long and do enjoy a social drink but only one.

I agree with decriminalizing dopey though...all that nice revenue in the Gov. coffers instead of the hands of crims...of course harder drugs will still be around illegally.

An interesting article on the dangers of Marijuana though...I know it is mind altering for heavy users./teenagers. Din't know about the cancer concerns though.

I've read this three times, and every time I get to the point of

coming up with a cogent response, I can't quite remember what... (Joking). I've long believed pot is much better as a recreational substance than alcohol, primarily because the users get mellow (if hungry) instead of combative. Lesser of two evils... And the war on drugs has been a waste of law enforcement, time, money and IMO stoners should not be convicted to serve with trained criminals.

I've read many things that seem to go back and forth about the pros & cons of smoking marijuana, the pros & cons of legalizing marijuana, and the pros & cons of growing, manufacturing and taxing marijuana. I think I'll still sit on the fence here for a while longer . . .
