Re:
Thanks, C C T. What I'm still trying to figure out is why some people say two-thousand fourteen instead of twenty-fourteen. When you see 1814, you say eighteen-fourteen. When you see 1914, you say nineteen-fourteen. Why is 2014 any different? Interesting topic for another blog, huh? Throwing that luck right back at you . . .

Re:
Thanks, lustor. Yeah, 2013 started out rough for my wife and me, but then kinda evened out toward the end. But I guess that's life. A few ups, a few downs, and yet somehow we keep rollin' along! Bring on 2014 . . .

I think it will be easier to write 2014 Jimmy it feels as though is has been here before.
Perhaps I think of 1914. I don't think we shall feel the same about it at 2114. Funny to think life will go on for a long time yet. Be lucky.

Re:
That's probably true, Carolyn, but there are just some things that are beyond our control! I know I wouldn't want a 'bland' life, but I also want to keep my blood pressure at an even keel! A nice mix of calmness and excitement would be just fine! We'll see what the new year brings . . .

Re:
I understand, Kabu. That's why I mentioned that the celebration could be directed at the end of the old year, which may or may not have been particularly good for a lot of people. Last year started out extremely rough for my wife and me, but ended 'decently.' I'm hoping 2014 starts out well, and can continue throughout the year! I guess that's what we're all hoping for . . .

Thanks, Annicita. Even with those particular wishes, I feel compelled to keep the somewhat bizarre humor flowing . . .

Re:
And now it's Thursday, right, FSI? See how quickly the days blend into each other? Soon it will be February, then March, and the 'new year' will have lost its luster. But, that doesn't mean it can't still be a good one! Let's hope so . . .

I do like your New Year wishes for us all...Thank you...and as for the Celebration to me it is like the old calendar ...all scruffy and full of appointments and ready to be tossed. The year has been filled with enough disaters and miseries...not personal necessarily, so that turning that page, opening that new appointment book. It is a great feeling.
