Naut
Now you and Kabu stop crying that little fellow is already in Florida by now. Happy New Year to you now that you have been a good boy and avoided divorce.

What's really fun is that Little and Big Brown Bat colonies
often hibernate in attics, in that part of the world. Your visitor might have just missed the proper entrance.

Yeah, that poor little guy! But I guess, when your wife hints at "It's either me or the bat," your choice is crystal clear! Maybe you'll catch up with him in the Spring, and explain the circumstances. Who knows? Maybe he's married too, and will understand the dilemma you were facing. . .

That was a lot of excitement there with the bat...I myself do not ever recall seeing a bad outside of the zoo...A wise move getting the bat out of the house with divorce a possibility.

i THOUGHT i saw a bat in my iowa apt in october. fortunately my maintenance man and his sidekick came to ferret it out to no avail. apparently i freaked when i REALLY saw a mouse. bats are mere mice angels or so i saw in a drawing on fb. glad you got rid of the thing. i'm sure he found whatever warmth he needed.
happy new year and puppy kisses to you and yours.

Well if it happens again Naut put a glove on and put it into a box. I suppose you could drop insects in through a small hole and let it go on a warm night. Of course you have to be a able to tell lies to your dear wife, but that comes natural to most men.

I have had quite a few experiences with bats (bottom of the Grand Canyon, northern mountains of Spain, our school gym when I was a child, hanging on my Grandma Jelinek's fence, etc., etc.) but, never in the winter. I've never seen a bat in the snow. Fun read. You wrote it interestingly.
