C.C.

In the time I began it was easier to make more money than it is now. We had communications. Now we see only a few, you in particular, who answers the comments on our blogs. Then everybody answered and sometimes there were several questions and answers back and forth. It was much more fun and I loved the communication. There were times it became heated but it worked. I made about four or five times what I do now. I am not trying to make a lot but this is sheer calamity money wise....

Re:

Well I had a rough count one day Jimmy, I don't think this is running at a profit for the proprietor. Perhaps he does not mind if it is part of an larger organisation. This was a nice idea and I think it has probably been the lack of personal funds that slowed down the entries. Better see what mischief you have been up to I suppose.

Well your wish will probably be granted Lion unless you set up your own site, which I am sure you could do, Nice to see you anyway./

Interesting analysis of our fair land of Blog-it. Initially, I was under the impression that the audience was much larger, not necessarily of contributors as much as the number of people who could actually log on and read us. Although I enjoy our cozy little family here, a part of me does wish the range was somewhat broader . . .

The problem with social sites is taht if people don't go or don't interact then the site fails.  That siad I like Blogit because here I can share things with people who genuinely want to read.  Of course I have no wish for fame so perhaps a quiet Blogit suits me better.

Loved the poem - it made me laugh

Re: Taps

I suppose we have to get used to one another, honestly I did not care for some at the beginning, but as I became to know them I realized it was being silly and they probably did not like me. Well we all cannot be as perfect.. Music softly plays. Your son on the violin. Happy New Year.

Re: Perhaps we could stick to FB for free,

Yes give me my arm back Pat. It is a bit of fun at times, although probably I do write too much as has been suggested. I'll cut it down to two blogs or one but I have to keep three to be able to post the photos.

Re: The only person I know who has ever really made money on Blogit

That is it really Ciel this is a community. Neighbours in the old days would nip in next door for a cup of sugar or a little gossip. Please accept this complimentary cup of sugar. You see one has to ask as most do for sweetness to be passed, it is the same thing. Some never returned the sugar. I have only been here three years or so but I think even

Ariala would find it a job to make a bob these days.

Re: C.C.C.

Lo Bro I know you love Blogit and I have only been here three years. I would be sad to see it fold, Remember half the things I say are half only jokes, I never mean to give offense.

Re:

I am sure I did not refer to you T.S. It seemed funny that folk could feel so emotive.

Yes I love dog kisses. An old lady said to me once' No one ever kisses me now. She looked at me. I was sixteen. Gulp! 'Unless this young man will?' I always regretted not doing so. doing so.

Re: CCT NAUT

Well we are not walking across the Niagara falls on a wire Naut. I just thought it was a bit rich when the of the contributers on that site called us idiots.

CCT

I realized after about a month that there was no money to be made here unless your name was Ariala, but even she has moved on, presumably to even greener pastures. But then I didn't really approach this gig as a potential source of income...Oh, and I never trust angels - never have...

C.C.C.

I am sorry you feel as you do about Blogit. I have been here 9 years, made close to 2 grand, grieved the loss of my former wife to brain cancer. Bloggers pulled me through with their cyber loving. Then my miracle Kabu came along after we fell in love with each other, and we are staying in love here. Maybe if you wrote fewer and shorter posts Bro it would be a lot easier and a lot more fun.

i blogged that blogit was a con for trivia writers. or something to that effect that i read on some other site on this world wide web of utter nonsense and deceit. maybe i'm too old for the likes of someone so well spoken, poetic and good hearted as you?.. dog kisses to you and yours. God bless you, i'm so glad you're here and i"ll take your rainy damp england anyday.

blogit for me long ago stopped being a place to hope to make some money. It is friends and getting to know something about all sorts of folk that we could never hope to know otherwise. Oh and I met the dearest man ever here and married him so no complaints ever from me. I do try to encourage newbies to read others and work it a bit...of course time is not avaliable to everyone...but this place could work if enough people interacted.

The only person I know who has ever really made money on Blogit

was Ariala, and she certainly worked at it!

Maybe some new blogit writers come here with the expectation of sudden success and magical connections, but, as you say, they don't reach back to those who reach out to them with comments. It's like any community, you have to work your way into it, and let Time do its work.

Perhaps we could stick to FB for free,

but there's my rationale: to me it seems you get what you pay for.

I think my Blogit dollars are well spent because I do get useful feedback and the virtual arm around the waist from time to time. And I have friends and neighbors all the way to Timbuktu and back again. Happy New Year. :)

I feel that you have summed up Blogit nicely. That is nice of you to defend Blogit...I wonder what the response will be to the speaker of the poem.
