sounds like you've had a wonderful career helping students learn. good luck subbing. when i was doing it in pasadena i found positive reinforcement worked like a charm.

Wonderful post. I understand completely. Thank you for putting it into words. I need to share this with my brother. He has been fighting to be heard for years now... he just needs to relax... just live in the moment and let the younger folks figure things out. We've done our bit. I find small ways to make a differnce now, but without much talk and notice. I feel I still make a difference in my own little way.

your posts are very interesting to me. This rather sad quiet road where no boats are rocked or still wateres troubled or calling against the wind (how is thast for mixing my metsaphors LOl) but really as one gets older what is the point? no one wants our views or knowledge. We don't seem to understand...just ask them, the younger ones. keeping yourself busy and teaching a little is better than staying home, having no income or self stimulation and waiting to die is no way to live. And while we are here, I believe there is a reason for us to be here and we should do what we can to make it meaningful.
