I've seen books before written by the offspring of well-known people who give you special "behind-the-scenes" glimpses of the personal lives of their parent that you would never have known before. Sometimes they're somewhat negative, and I almost wish they hadn't divulged them. Interesting post . . .

great excerpt Naut. I too am a Dickens fan ...I started reading him when I was about 10 (precocious child LOL) and am still enjoying his works.

Very nice homely view of the man. I have quite a collection of his books, quite different to the ones we read in school which had of course been simplified to some extent. Perhaps he got some of his idea's from his dinner parties and guests. An interesting subject Naut.
