Yes, it's bitterly cold over here as well, but fortunately, our heat is working fine! Hopefully yours will be soon too! We had a significant snowfall on Saturday, which was followed by a covering of ice on Sunday morning! Needless to say, I'm still a bit sore after all that shoveling . . .

something that might help
truckers and campers use this a lot. take a small real tin, not the newer version of cans, and a roll of toilet paper. take the cardbox out of the toilet paper and stuff it down in the coffee can. Pour enough of a bottle of rubbing alcohol in it to soak the toilet paper. make sure it is on a fireproof place tho, as the can will get warm. Light the toilet paper with a match. It will slowly burn for hours, but will not get hot enough to catch anything on fire. The flame will be blueish colored, not bright yellow or orange like a very hot fire would be. I have used this method myself and it really works. The fumes are not in anyway damaging to the person. Be sure to keep children and animals away from the can. When you are ready to put it out, simply put it in the sink, handling it caustiously and run water into it, or set it out in the snow. the cold will put it out. I have always set mine out in the snow. Make sure you use rubbing alcohol only and do not forget to take the card board out, and make sure you use a real tin can.

I think Kabu has the right idea stay in bed until the heat comes on. You should get priority if you are a not well.

Pop into bed love the two of you together if possible to keep each other warm. watch some Telly or tell each other Ghost stories so that you have to hide under the warm bedclothes. A hot shower can help to warm you as well. Good luck and I pray that the heat recovers soon.
