Have to clarify....
I think I wrote that last part wrong! The gap in interests and experience is largest between either end of the tween years, and by the time someone hits high school at fourteen or fifteen I assumed (maybe wrongly!) that they would want a forum for high-schoolers or they would just want to join a general adult forum.

Dewdrop --
I'm not sure what you're saying. Are you saying that teens would be interested in a kids' blogging network? I thought that teens, especially older ones (out of middle school, into high school) wouldn't be. Teens have, essentially, adult problems that couldn't really be discussed on a kids' network, and not necessarily because the material is "inappropriate for kids," (it might not be,)but because there is definitely such a huge experience and interest gap between kids who are older elementary (nine) and older middle school (thirteen.)

you'll just have teenagers influencing the younger writers

A lot of teenagers could be keeping some pretty negative journals...

And besides that, I know 7th graders who can write better than a lot of the bloggers here. So I just don't click on those blogs...
