Re: Naut

I'll let you know one day. I know your trees can do with a bit of a haircut,The proof is in the pudding though. Yes a bit of a fanciful delivery I suppose it might be alright between depots, we shall no doubt  find out in the future.

Re: Pat

Well nothing is new under the sun Pat. I will definitely try that. It does sound more appetizing than the raw onions in pickling vinegar.Thank you. Do you still have a go at this dish.

Yep, their parents started it all...

Probably started the ball rolling over lunch, too, and one thing led to another, and before you know it, it was closing time...

CCT

I can see fleets of Amazon delivery vehicles overhead, occasionally collidiing and forcing us into some ditch for cover...I could have used Archie's apple picker not too long ago, as will become apparent soon in one of my future post...And between him and her, I want to kno whether they did make it to lunch, or even possibly dinner, and what happened afterwards...

When I was still an apprentice learning the wifely art of southern

cooking from my first mother-in-law, she taught me to make fresh pickled onion and cucumber slices - first thing after washing the breakfast dishes, thinly slice a mild white onion and a medium cucumber into a glass bowl - alternate layers. Mix white vinegar and water - about half and half, with a tablespoon of sugar and cover the veggies. They will be ready to eat by the lunch hour, and still tasty enough to serve at supper if there's any left after lunch.

Re: Jay

If it is any consolation Jay I have tried copying well known poets, such as Wordsworth

Old Benjamin and Dylan Thomas, perhaps you  should aspire to try those. Although I think your style is more Dylan Thomas.

Re: Jimmy

Perhaps the older uns remember taking one out of the pickle

jar before they were ready Jimmy . Perhaps Mrs Beeton had been on the bottle when she gave out her recipe. Go on make some and try one, you may not know what you are missing.

Re:

If they are not soft when young they get a bit acidic as they age. Sorry Kabu I was thinking of onions at the same time. I can't understand it, I mean he just puts them in jars and folk scrunch them up and say wonderful.

It is interesting reading your philosophy on poetry...I enjoyed reading the dialogue in the poem.

oh but she is so prickly; all he wants is to spend a bit of time with her...and i agree with your first musings..I am not going to worry about the world any more. I am done with what goes on out there...i wonder if I should try those onions like Archie does them...must be some Spirits in that there vinegar.

Here's hoping that Archie's chutney enterprise continues to grow! As for those 'pickled onions,' he's obviously been very, very lucky. However, I don't know how his enterprise would fair over here. Most people seem to prefer either pickles or onions . . .

I have heard that e-books are the way to go, but I don't have a Kindle and besides, I love to dog ear my pages. I really liked the first poem CCT and of course your he said, she said poems are always my favorites. I even tried to copy the style once only to learn how wise the master is.
