I really like your poem! It describes my 'normal' state of mind very well, LOL! The rest is interesting as well, and those smiling kiddies are just darling...

Justi is right...treasure...wonderful treasure...and it is like that isn't it! When our parents generation are all gone we drift apart as families. My parents both came from large families but now years later so many cousins already gone...the families belong to other families and no body knows any more.

I wish Theresa all the best...It is interesting what we can find about our family history online. Many have learned so much.

Lovely poem Taps . You have certainly come alive since finding more of your kin. It must be a bit exciting to have found a pathway.

What a treasure you have found... and I am so jealous...I wonder sometimes where my grandmama's siblings are... well rather their children and grandchildren.s kids :-) You see...Grandmama had 6 brothers and sisters and 4 half brothers... the first 6 were born in France where her parents were from. Her mom died in childbirth of the last one. Her father remarried an American woman and came to live with all of them to the US, in Montana, when my grandmama was 10. The second wife died as well
and Grandmama helped raise her 4 little ones. She was a beautiful person, giving and loving :-) They all considered her like a second Mom rather than a sister. Then she met my Avi ( the name means Grandfather in Catalan) He was in vacation here in the US from Spain. They married and went to Cuba with the littlelest step sister ( 10 at the time) and who she raised as her own. My mother and I were born. in Cuba and the rest is history... ..but she lost contact with the rest of her step family who had moved to France just before the war. When we came here as family of an American Citizen ( Grandmama) we tried to search for them but back then there were no tools like the ones we have now and we gave up. Also the Brothers that were here did not like the step siblings too much and were against finding them. Lately I have tried a couple of times in Ancestry.com and other places, but no luck. Probably the older generations passed on and the children are married with different last names... so sad.
I am happy for you Taps... Family is so important and to see features you love on littleones is such a gift. Enjoy your rekindled ties my friend xoxoxo
