This part is great:  "Life is precious. It is to be protected, nurtured and celebrated."
Wouldn't it be great if everyone felt that way about it.

I have a few friends from Iran, whom I built accessible vehicles for when I had my business, they tell much the same line, they are so thankful to be here where they can speak freely. You can see the worry in their eyes, as they know what is coming.

I don't think it will recede either...History tells me otherwise.

A pretty amazing read, from a pretty amazing person. I think most religions are a form of "brainwashing," a way of "controlling the masses." And the key is to start early while they are still very young, and too young to muster any kind of logical defense. You'll almost never hear a child stop and question something presented to him by an adult, especially if it involves tradition or heritage. The "Disease of Islam." Great title . . .

It is interesting reading things from his perspective. He has strong words there...Like you, I do not see it receding.

I had heard of him... At at an event I attended one of the speakers kept quoting him and curious as I am when I got home I goggled him.  He is very articulate and his words are wise and worth reading.  I remember thinking at the time that he had a very clear handle on what Islam was.  Unfortunately like you I do have more things I want to read and research than time to read them and research them loll so I did not continued reading his stuff...but I do remember one piece in which he was talking about racism and all kinds of isms and he gave an example that stock in my head... He was explaining that it has been demonstrated that all humans have the same genetic origin and that because of that there is really just one race, but that did not mean that some "races" or groups of people  were not more aggressive or hateful or intolerant than others because education and environment shaped their minds.  He made a comparison with dogs.  He said dogs are much the same as us... they all have their origin in the wolves...but regardless of that...now a days we would be wise to remember that " Wolves are wolves. They are not dogs, although they may look like some dogs. One does well to avoid them and not attempt to tickle them behind the ears."He concluded that regarding others as the same as us because we are not "racists" made no sense and we should judge individually and not generalize but beware of what was obvious.   Be well Naut :-)  xoxoxo
