An eloquent expression of what I have felt upon review,  a phenomenon that  almost sabotaged and ruined my poetry and writing to whitewash it too much.  Hope your book does well.

Great work. Questioning is the form that I use to unravel problems in my line of work to help others uncover truths about themselves as I help authorities for a combined effort in conflict resolution.

i never thought much about questioning for artist endeavors or seriously until recently. To get at the root of anything, questions are essential. However, one can never tell if the response given is accurate. Truthful is another issue given motivation of responder. Good post and much success with your book.

Probing, thoughtful - another excellent and, I think, important poem...

You must write what you feel Jay. Not everyone is going to like it, we all write things that are a bit mediocre at times. Just think what are you writing for self-achievement, fame, we have to understand our motives . In my opinion you have increased your skill tremendously over the years, perhaps you will feel more settled when you have published your book. I honestly do not think one can make money out of poetry, but that is not what one really wants. Be happy.

A very insightful poem that raises very valid questions... I guess it all depends... I think honesty is the most importansindividual expression of the first.  Happy poems are not necesarily dishonest... one can see beauty even in the midsts of tragedy.  It is true though that some sugarcoat their words to such degree that make their words a little repugnant ...or ad too much drama to their writing with the use of big or rare words in the vane attempt to apear more sofisticated, achieving instead either a petulant or a comical end result... A true artist though , I believe,  writes his or her life and lives or relives  what he or she  writes...if only at the moment he or she writes it.  Then and only then his or her reader can feel what he or she feelt when writing it.  You are a true  Artist my friend.  xoxoxo

Most excellent, Jay!

I've always written the darker realities of life into my poems; I've had numerous blogs here over the years just for that purpose...in my opinion, that kind of writing is the most honest, heartfelt and therefore the best..Literary critics and reviewers appreciate it. That said, it doesn't go over well everywhere...
Congratulations on the new book - a star is born!!
