How terrible, Dear TAPS!
That's why I don't even know where my hood latch is and I have no desire to find out...I have found squinting and peeking very effective too when "viewing" unpleasant images. I can't understand people who get a kick out of rubbernecking at car crash and/or crime scenes; gives me cold sweats just thinking about it. I also can't write gory, violent, gruesome, etc. scenes in my stories.
My thoughts for the poor man..

That is bad. I had an uncle who died after he got out of his truck at an asphalt plant. The plant exploded. He died a few days later. He was told to remain in the vehicle at all times.
i hope one your mechanic does not get secondary infection.

Wow, that does sound terrible. And you're right. Squinting probably won't make much of a difference. Either look at the pic, or don't. Personally, although I would feel tremendous sympathy for the man, I don't think I'd want to see that either ( very weak stomach over here! )

I'm so sorry for your friend - what a nasty accident! But I can't imagine it was acid, the only place where you find that in a car would be in the battery. It was probably hot cooling fluid, but that's bad enough...

Eek! it gives me the shivers without looking at the photo. Boiling hot water soaking into clothes would be pretty rough. So lucky it was not his eyes.

I am sorry about your friend. We will pray and continue to do so until we have an update that he is better. Sad sounds like such good and giving people.

Most likely a radiator hose, the water/antifreeze mix can be 200 degrees or more. I hope all goes well for him and that he is not in pain...Thanks for your comment on Kabu's post today. I so enjoyed it.

Here is to hoping that he feels better...I've put my hands up plenty of times when watching television.

I'm sorry to hear about this accident to your friend. This kind of
thing can really make it difficult for anyone concerned, especially close family. I hope he has a speedy and complete recovery and you don't have to squint.
